I lived at mission for 4 years and at first was very satisfied with everything. Right before I left mission took over and the new office ladys were horrible! I miss kristin! They were very easy going when the new office lady did a final walk through of our apt all she said was it looked good and at most we would owe $20 bucks for a small stain on the carpet (what i would consider normal wear and tear for 4 years) so we were ok with that and left. 2.5 months later we got a bill for almost $200 bucks! I called and she said the stain ruined the whole carpet and so they replaced the whole carpet! Plus they replaced a set of blinds and charged me 50 bucks! I asked her to reconsider all the charges and send me a second bill....never got another bill so I thought it was taken care of...then we got a call from the collection agency saying we owe almost 250$$! I do NOT recommend living at a place where they are always trying to scam you, would that make you feel safe at home'

If you take care of your apartment you will not be charged- I learned that the hard way to. Safety has nothing to do with damages.

I know I'm responding very late, but living in a place for 4 years would definitely put you within the legal definition of "normal wear and tear". I would have gone to small claims court over that, especially since she was trying to blame you for replacing the carpet. They have to replace the carpet if a tenant has lived in a dwelling over a certain period of time, and 4 years is over that time. You were not responsible for the carpet. Sorry I came along so late. I'm not a lawyer, but my Mom is and she's helped me a lot over the years. I hope you resolved this problem. Unfortunately, a lot of landlords do this. It stinks.
