Not pleased with management turnover

I have been living here for just about over a year and have seen three sets of management staff come and go. Apparently, from reading earlier reviews, this is something that happens either just here, or with apartment management in general. I was quite pleased with the young ladies that were here when I moved in, Sara, Sherri and Rachael. They were always welcoming, helpful, and accomodating. The only true problem I've had is that I've had an issue with the carpeting in my apartment from day one, it is severely stained and blackened. I asked Sara if it could be replaced prior to my moving into it. She agreed that it should be because it had been that bad for quite awhile. She said she'd have to get corporates approval to replace it. I had to follow up with her while I was waiting to move in (I had been approved & a deposit given). She told me corporate refused to replace it, they preferred it be cleaned and to see if the stains came out then. As anyone knows, when carpet is freshly cleaned it looks amazing, give it a couple of weeks and those stains creep back up to the surface, which is what happened with mine. She said she'd try to have it cleaned again, and then eventually she was "let go" with the rest of the staff. Well, new manager on board and she was a tyrant, she evicted people left and right and raised rents on people renewing. It seems like they kicked the rent up high on the people they wanted out. She lasted a couple of months, then new management and staff on board. All this while I kept trying to get my darn carpet cleaned with no luck. Promises, but no delivery. The new staff seemed very pleasant at first but quite overwhelmed. They didn't seem to be able to get a grasp on things at first. I renewed my lease with the promise from Tonya to get my carpet cleaned. Well, it's several months later and my carpet hasn't been cleaned yet. Everytime, I go in and ask it's like I'm asking for the first time. No one remembers or writes it down! Seems a bit unorganized still! The maintenance staff has remained the same with Keith in charge and he's great. But,overall there seems to be something missing. The grounds and breezeways don't seem to be kept up like they used to and are dirty in areas not seen immediately to the public or people checking the place out. I think a lot of the rift raft and drug dealers have been evicted, but Sara had taken care of that and then the tyrant manager, finished it off. I've been concerned about some of the newer residents that Tonya has let in. I'm not sure I feel quite as safe as I once did. vWhRVi5nYYIuEh4W7K3l

I would like to clarify decisions as to who rents an apartment is based on credit and background checks processed by our home office. We do not base an approval on how someone looks. If a resident has a complaint they are more than welcome to stop by the office and inform us of the issue so that the problem can be resolved. As the manager I try to take care of every situation that is brought to my attention. I do not have any control as to who lives here other than those who qualify like everyone else who lives here has to. I have received many compliments from several residents who are very happy with the changes being made. As far as the breezeways not being clean, I ask everyone to remember we are under water restrictions therefore we can't clean the breezeways as they once were. If you feel there are any further issues, please feel free to stop in and adress them with me personally.

It's interesting that the manager that responded to my posting is no longer working at The Cloisters. Also, the head maintenance manager, who had been here for years (and was very nice) has been let go. There is new management, once again, and the new manager seems extremely friendly and welcoming, it will be interesting how he handles cleaning up the mess around here. The place has definitely gone downhill while Southwood Realty's Corporate office has been trying to replace the awesome manager and office staff they had here a year ago. But, while they've been trying to find the right people chaos has ensued. The grounds have empty liquor and beer bottles laying around, and yes there are mushrooms growing all over, the hedges are overgrown and there's mold on many, many building exterior. Lots of people hanging around at night and wandering the parking lots. It hasn't gotten any better since I last posted my thoughts here. Luckily for me, my lease is up and I'm out of here!
