This is probably the nicest apartment complex in North Meck. The staff is very easy to deal with, and they made moving in very easy. The grounds and buildings are absolutely stunning...it's what an apartment complex SHOULD look like. The apartments have a ton of windows, so you'll either have a view of the treeline or the lake...both are great!

Everyone I've met while moving in and walking around is friendly. It's nice to know that people are out walking their dogs or taking a stroll at 10pm and that there are eyes on the community at all hours.

Two minor caveats: parking can be difficult. There are, for example, only about 20 spots outside a building with a dozen or so units, all of then 2 or 3 bedrooms. You can do that math and figure out that the spots run out quickly. Normally not an issue to walk a few more feet, but if you're bringing in groceries, you may be annoyed by this. (Not every building has this problem, to be fair.) Also, there are no ceiling fans in the units...or at least not mine. This is an interesting choice, but not terribly annoying. (The AC seems to work fine, plus the trees provide a lot of shade.)

One major caveat: unless you live on the top floor, prepare to hear everything your upstairs neighbors do. I think it's wood frame construction, so the floors transmit sounds pretty easily. This will take some getting used to for me, but it hasn't been anything major yet. My bedroom's floor creaks, so I'm sure my downstairs neighbors have heard me, too, though I try to walk as quietly as possible.

Overall, though, even with the mentioned caveats, I wouldn't hesitate to give this property a serious look. You can't beat the location, the view, the grounds, or the price. (These things are freaking huge!)

(Time Warner's cable modem service, by the way, is a TON faster than it is if you were living in Charlotte!)
