The experience at Bexley at Lake Norman was generally good except for 3 things.
1) They socked us for a $486 carpet depreciation fee upon our departure. The carpet was in very good condition and we even had a maintenance man tell us it looked fine. I guess we were the lucky ones - some had a $1200 carpet replacement fee. We We argued but they threatened us (thinly veiled)with the $1200 fee. This seems to be commonplace at this complex.
2) The floors are thin. We had a downstairs neighbor who constantly complained about our children making too much noise. We were on the 3rd floor. He even remarked that he heard us constantly yelling at our kids to stop walking so loud, etc. The walls seem fine.
3) Some crime. Occasionally cars and even a few apartments would get broken into while people were away. There seems to be a bad section of town down by the bus stop. I had hoodlums aproach me for money on a few occasions when I got dropped off after dark. So I decided to drive to another bus stop during the winter months when it gets dark early.
