I have had nothing but trouble from the first day I rented here and the office has done nothing to help! The office staff definitely has their favorite tenants and if you are not one of them then you can just forget about it.

I hope you like noise because there is nothing done about noisy tenants. I hope that you like trash outside peoples doors as nothing is done about this. I hope you like dog poop all over the lawns because nothing is done about people not picking up after their dogs.

All in all my stay here has been nothing but a nightmare and I would certainly not encourage anyone to rent here. We have had a child molester arrested here, the office golf cart was stolen and other things are going on as we speak.

Don't waste your time even looking at this place. You are going to lose money and your sanity.

I am a current resident at One Norman and have lived here for three years. One of my friends called me and told me to take a look at a recent rating someone had posted. She was surprised b/c I have always had nothing but good things to say about where I live. So, first of all, thank you to this site for allowing people to respond to reviews that they may disagree with. Although I obviously understand that apartment living is always going to be the same as living in a house. Any apartment you live in, there is going to be some "noise" involved. I personally have never had to report any noise problems to the staff, but one of my neighbors had a problem with his upstairs neighbor playing music to loud, and the girls in the office took care of it right away. As for the dog poop. Are you kidding me?! Do you read any of the newsletter the girls in the office write? Every single newsletter for the past few months has had a letter from our manager, Becky, imploring pet owners to pick up after their dogs. They have started fining residents. What else can they do. Did you bother to read the letter that went out letting us know that they just hired a pooper scooper for the property? They have hired someone to come to One Norman and pick up the dog poop for us. How can you say they aren't doing anything? I know the sexual offender being arrested was scary, but we now know (if you bothered to read THAT letter) than he was not a resident and never lived here, he was just visiting someone and nothing illegal took place here. If you watch the news, I'm sure you know that those types of things can happen anywhere. I haven't heard about the golf cart, but I'm sure it is just kids being silly. I've lived in several apartments since college, and everywehere I've lived has had the gold cart taken many times. The girls in the office have never been anything but super friendly and helpful towards me, and I have never felt that they only treat "favorites" well. I guess the bottom line is that myself, and so many others absolutely love it here. Our community is beautiful, clean, and well run. It is our home, so it bothers me to hear someone else speak so negatively about it. If you are someone that is looking for a place to live, come see what One Norman is all about and you'll see why I love it so much. To the person who wrote the article I am responding to... I feel so sorry for you. it seems like you are a negative person who likes to look for the bad in everything. Have you tried going to the office and talking to the girls about your issues? Can you really say they aren't and haven't done anything to help resolve your issues? Think about it. Thank you, K.M., a very happy resident

Nothing was taken care of by the office. The newsletter is a joke. How can you fine someone when you can't see them breaking the rules. My husband and I had nothing but noisy neighbors down below us who do nothing but have loud parties, let their dogs bark, slam their doors night and day and this has been going on since July when we moved in. Nothing was done and the neighbors are still acting the same way and getting away with it. In fact, now they have three dogs and two cats which is against the rules. They can do whatever they want and get away with it but the rest of us have to follow the rules. I dare you to spend 1 night in my apartment and you will see exactly what I am talking about. I am not making this up or exaggerating. This is the truth. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Not after what we have experienced. This is not just normal noise. This is above and beyond the normal apartment living noises. These tenants are definitely their favorites. I'm not a negative person and the last place I lived at I was there 3 years but wanted to get out of the City of Charlotte. You are entitled to your opinion and I am entitled to mine. Sorry. My husband and I have gone to the office time and time again only to be told that there is nothing that can be done. I have even had the cops out here.

Piglet, you should keep complaining and calling the police (not 911!). Understand that not eveyone has such terrible neighbors. I would hate your situation and move out eventually if there were no 'legal' meaninf lease breaking activities that could get your neighbors evicted.
