I have lived at One Norman Square for over a year. I can't stand this place and can't wait to move. The apartments are terrible with mildew on the windows. You call the office for a service request and they just ignore you. Some of my neighbors have similar problems and for those who don't maybe you have one of the few good units. I can't wait to move, just counting the days!!!

I totally understand your frustration. I lived there also and I actually took pictures of the mildew (as stated in the lease agreement you're supposed to report it to the office) after repeatedly reporting it. I cleaned it with clorox spray over and over and the resolution from the office was, "you live near the water so you'll have mildew on the windows". Ok, I've lived near water before (even on the ocean front) and NEVER experienced mildew on the windows. We were also told the same thing about the earwigs constantly being seen in my apartment. My question was what's the exterminator spraying in order for him to return every month? Like I stated in an earlier review (listed as "What Management" by irritatedrenter08)most homes have annual pest inspections and treatments. On several occasions we needed someone to come fix the bathtub fosset leaking, or the kitchen sink leaking, or the time the a/c froze up, I had to call about the same things MANY MANY times. Randy with the office was supposedly coming back to fix the tub one day and stayed at the lake fishing for several hours. The next morning I called Kelly and blessed her out and all she said was she was sorry. Yeah ok whatever, it's not like you can't see the lake from the office and wouldn't notice someone fishing or goofing off during business hours!! I'm glad someone else feels the same way I do. I had to break my lease agreement. When the "fear of staying the same becomes more than the fear of change" comes, it's time to go my friend. Good luck!

After reviewing the last two comments that were written about my property, I became concerned that the view of these two "anonymous" residents may be the norm, not the exception. I myself and staff have asked, called, and sent a survey of our own to many of our residents regarding maint service and quality of our apts. I'm happy to say that we received a GREAT overall rating. So, if you are a prospective future resident looking for an exceptional apartment community to call home, One Norman Square is the place to live. Also, keep in mind that anyone can post false statements on this site.
To the residents that have expressed their dissatisfaction with my property, I apologize and only ask that you contact me, so that I may have the opportunity to rectify the situation.
Sincerely,
Kelly Thomason

ok, first off, I have lived here for a year and just moved out this week and Kelly has never have given out a survey to me or anyone else that i talk to in the apartment complex. Maybe they did send some out some but not to anyone that would be honest. Second, yes, my windows had mildew and i had also seen bugs. And i mean all types of bugs. From spiders to earwichs to others as well. I even found a roach before i left. They send around a calandar every month that tells what day a week they will be spraying for bugs. I was there for 3 months during the day and and there has not been anyone that came to the door to spray for bugs inside the apartment. They are suppose to do this once a week. They may do this outside but they are not doing this inside the apartments where it is needing to be done. Another thing, there is really ancient appliances in the apartments. For the price that u pay each month don't come here go to Carrington Park right next door. Also, please don't forget to give a 60 day written notice or they will get u on that as well. These apartments are defineltly not worth the price u are renting them for but if u don't give them a 60 day notice then u will be left to sign another lease for another year (and u know once u are there for a year what we are all complaining about) or u will have to pay a rediculoius amount from month to month! Please really consider before leasing there! I wish i would have done better research before i moved in. Oh and words of wisdom, if u do get an apartment there, get one in the upper half close to the office and not the lower half away from the office. They are actually alot nicer but I am sure u will have the same problems just like the rest of us!
Oh and maintence, whatever u think is urgent is not very urgent to them. They really procrasinate the situation. Hope this helps anyone that maybe intrested in the honest truth in these apartments.
