Very poor living

Oakhill Apartments in Davidson, NC are an absolute nightmare. I lived there for 14 months and could not wait to leave. There are three buildings at Oakhill (which actually used to be a hotel), A, B and C. I lived in building C and the only thing I can say is that it needs to be demolished. Although they make a good effort to exterminate the bugs, the place is still infested. When I moved in, I noticed a powder substance behind the stove. Had it checked out and guess what,... it was rat poison. The entire place is falling apart piece by piece. I had one cable connection for television and it was in the kitchen. The sink leaked no matter how many times it was fixed. If I used more than one appliance in the kitchen at the same time the fuse box would reset and I would lose power. Not to mention that unless you had a corner apartment, you only had two windows which allowed no light to enter. Parking was horrible. Half the cars in the lot did not run. My side of the building looked like a junk yard. And when they tried to do a little landscaping they dumped all of the extra junk and things they removed right in view from my window. Oh, and plenty of domestic disturbances. I got used to seeing the police. In the laundry building/renters office the clothes dryers never worked. You had to dry your clothes 2-3 times before they were dry. The swimming pool was nasty. The health board made them close the swimming pool several times this summer. Overall a bad place to live, even if you're a student that is just getting by.
