There's better around

First, the pros.

There are many: great layouts, abundant parking, beautiful grounds, a lake with a pavillion you can use for get-togethers.

I got a one-bed, one-den since it was me and my husband, not a roomate so we weren't going to use two bedrooms...but we did want two bedrooms of space.

This is an affordable option, and made a great starter apartment.

The complex is not new, but it is only from the 1980s...it's not really old either.

The problems can be boiled down to one major issue: the management is awful.

I know they changed staff, many times in fact while I was there, but they were always replacing incompetent uncaring employees with incompetent uncaring employees.

I don't care if they smiled at me - they never did anything for me and aside from the smiles they were quite combative.

During a heat wave our air conditioner broke - it remained broken for over a week while the temps exceeded 100 on my third floor apartment.

I couldn't open the sliding door either, since they never answered my many requests to have the screen fixed.

In the two years I was there, they never washed the exteriors of the windows, which had a yellow pollin film and bird stuff.

The exercise room, which I was assured on a tour was near renovation, never was updated from it's 1980's teal and pink squiggly sweatstained wallpaper.

There were about three items of equipment, and at any given time only one or two worked.

I bought a washer and dryer because the laundry room was unpleasant.

I tried to rent the clubhouse for a dinner party, which they told me on tour I could do...but when I tried to do it they said that it wasn't available for rentals anymore.

In this housing market, you can rent a three or four bedroom, pleasant house for what you pay for these apartments.

Do that instead.
