Hasn't changed much...

Years at this apartment: 1985 - 1987
This is too funny. We're back in NC after being away for almost two decades and are looking for temporary housing. Beech Lake was a nightmare - I can still angrily recall our dismal experience there after 18 years.
I haven't given Beech Lake a rating because it's been so long since we've lived there, but, it seems that not much has changed. We lived at Beech Lake when it was new.
The reason there are so many issues with the apartments now is due to the original shoddy construction. We lived in one of the original buildings and watched the rest of Beech Lake being built. It was not quality construction. The pool was disintergrating after the 1st year. The laundry room reeked of mold and something really nasty.
The apartment itself was nicely appointed. We didn't have problems with noise from neighbors on either side. However, we did have issues with noise from downstairs.
On move-out, we were hit with a bill for $200 for cleaning the broiler and vacuuming the apartment. This was astonishing since we'd never used the broiler or oven. Also, we had had a cleaning service go over the apartment after the move-out (it was a corporate move, the company reimbursed us for the cleaning). We contested the charge and luckily had photos, as well as the bill from the cleaning company we'd used.
