Even the nice staff doesn't make it worth the money

This complex is priced high because it's so close to the megamall. Basically it means you're paying $700 a month for an apartment that's worth maybe $500.
The construction started in November and they predicted three to four weeks. Well here we are in March and no end in sight.
As of this year all tenants are charged $120 per year garbage collection fee. This is on top of already paying for water, electricity and gas. There is one dumpster in the complex, and it reeks in the summertime. $120 a year times 200 apartments is enough to buy at least two more containers, right' I dunno. Another bad decision on corporate's part.
My bad decision was renting from a national chain that doesn't care at all about its tenants. Never again. Not to mention that for all the money I'm paying in rent and utilities it'd be cheaper to buy a house.
Pros:
Office staff are nice and friendly. Just pay your rent on or before the 5th of the month and there's no problem. Maintenance staff are friendly and responsive. The one time I need a repair it's done the same day.
Cons:
Thin walls, shoddy construction in the apartments. They are very poorly insulated, so you're hot in summer and cold in winter.

I am not sure if this person has ever lived outside state of North Carolina, but I will be the first to commend the place for the construction. I lived in apartments for 23 years in Texas prior to this and the last two complexes (which took up about last 15 years or so) were both energy and sound leaks. Could never keep either "climitized" accordingly. Have not had much problem here thus far. And as far as water/garbage and other utilites. In my last complex in San Antonio, we were paying $35 a month for water/garbage. My apartment here is 300 sq ft larger and the most I have paid is $21, and I use a washer and dishwasher here. I did not in SA. Also, my electricity bills here have averaged $30-$35 a month, excluding a couple of months in the summer where it was in the $60's. I paid over $100 a month in SA and never ran the AC! EVER! It cost too much. I am getting long winded but wanted to compare/contrast with other places I have been. This complex is a bargain in comparison.

Keeping my apartment at 70 degrees in the winter, using the lights sparingly, cooking once a week, running the laundry once a week and taking a 10-15 minute shower daily costs me about $150-$200 per month in the winter for electricity.
