I moved into British Woods, now Hampton Forest, under false pretenses. My washer and dryer connections are still not hooked up, and they were suppose to be present at move in nearly 2 months ago. The laundry facility here is very dirty, and most of the machines were broken when I was there. I have been constantly heckled by Hispanic males hanging around the parking lot drinking at any given time of the day. When I worked second shift, I was even asked by a large black man for a ride to a crack house so he could sell his drugs to make rent as I was coming in from work. I've also had neighbors ask me to use my cell phone. This is not a safe place to live. The children are unruly and unsupervised. I told a group of kids no older than eight that profanity was inappropriate, then they rammed into my door on a scooter. I've never lived in a low class neighborhood before, and I am never again depending on Rent.com when I move from a different city. The apartments are bare minimum; no vaulted ceilings, no fireplaces, NO PORCHES! Unless you are really struggling with your finances, do not move here. Even Section 8 housing would have to be better than this.
