I've lived at Deerfield for a year now and I must say that it is nothing more than an average apt complex for a good price. The maintainence people always came within one day of the couple of minor complaints I had, the office staff are nice people, and the public areas are reasonably maintained. Of note, the REIT that owned Deerfield just merged with another company, so I can't say what impact that will have on management here.
In terms of minuses, you can occasionally hear your neighbor through the wall, but rarely and only when they are loud -------s. And you can hear your upstairs neighbor take a leak when you are in the bathroom too, which I found funny. Really my only noise compliant was the apparently 500 lb dude who lived above me stomping around.
Safety-wise I did see one car that was broken into, but I have had no problems. It happens to a certyain degree, but I wouldn't call it widespread.
And the screened in porch is great for drinking a beer and watching a thunderstorm on.
There are those birds that you hear in the bushes, but I can never hear them from my apartment. You do have to watch where you park though, because they crap an unbeleiveable volume. I was always able to find parking close to my place without a tree over it the birds liked.
There are also about 8 feral cats wandering around the property too. People feed them all the time, so I'm not sure if the management is really trying to get rid of them, or if residents really mind them. I don't really care.
All in all, what you see is what you get at Deerfield, no hidden surprises in my opinion. qmzu4EHcaGAPVCPw2Fai
