Cons-
-high chance you'll be mugged.
-high chance your place will get broken into (check out the police report if you have a few days to read it.)
-drugs. lots of drugs. if you use them then your in the right place. if you want them you now know where to move now.
-I occassionally had dirt brown water for some reason that NO ONE could explain (must be my imagination)
-hot water doesnt last long, so consider bringing your own.
-do you own a grill' if NOT you'll STILL be accused of "grilling in the breezeway", which is a violation of community law, and which they will use against you when you move out and try to find another place, even if you didnt do it.
-ROACHES. All of the roach families and their extended families, children and cousins decided to move here too. Enjoy getting your apartment sprayed often, even when your not home, and the roaches still being there.
-Oh did I mention, spiders, silverfish, beetles, gnats, and other fun pests that seem to love this place as much as I did'
-old,crappy appliances.
-thin walls. Careful what you say because your neighbors can most likely hear it. As well you get to hear them, babies crying, singing, consummating, and also enjoy waking up to all sorts of wonderful music that you dont want to hear. (and to think, you went and payed all that money for an iPod.)
-the grounds men and their leaf blowers. don't bother cleaning your car because they will blow everything you just washed off right back onto your car. And they'll do it on your day off when you get to sleep in.
-Sap-there are lots of pine trees. enjoy scraping sap off your car everyday.
-Guns. you WILL hear gun shots. More often than not. Just wait until New Years eve. Make sure to wear a bullet proof vest.
-Learn Spanish. You'll need it.
-workout facilities are scary. It looked more like a prison workout room to me.
-Speed Bumps EVERYWHERE. invest in shocks/struts.you'll need them.
-Flooding. Hopefully you'll get an apartment on a hill or something, or the top floor. Because be prepared to make yourself a bridge when it rains so that you can get over the water to your apartment, or the steps to get upstairs.
-Dirty-beer bottles everywhere, garbage, kids toys, the occasional drug paraphenalia.
-People will always be hanging out outside.ALWAYS. Drinking, blasting music from their cars, whistling at you when you walk to your apartment ect.
-You want A/C' HAHAHAHAHAHA. NO. the a/c sucks. I just stopped using it.
Hum, need I say more'...Sounding like a dream come true yet'
PROS-
-I had really great neighbors.Although they spoke no english whatsoever, I got to learn Spanish, which was useful.
-free food. They were always willing to share the food they cooked with the grill I got accused of using in the breezway.go figure.
-Parking-. I never had a real parking problem. I'm not saying that my car was safe or anything. Sometimes I wished I could fold it up and take it in my apartment with me.
-Dirt cheap-. My rent was insanely low. And my electric bills followed that trend.
-free cable-. Most of my friends and myself where able to have free cable when we moved in up until an indefinite amount of time due to possibly A.the cable man being afraid to come unhook the cable. B.the random people who would hook your cable up for a fee of $10.
-Good maintenance service. Nice guy and his son. quiet, speedy, always fixed the problem.
-Exciting!- Man this place never sleeps! If I was bored all I had to do was go to my apartment and a domestic dispute was bound to happen somewhere, if not a drug bust, or a robbery, shooting....
finally. DONOT MOVE HERE. IT IS NOT A GOOD PLACE TO LIVE.
