Emerald Forest is my very first residence on my own. As a graduate student (female) relocating to Durham for school, I have thoroughly enjoyed my stay within this quiet community. I feel very safe walking my dog anytime during the day or night. Emerald Forest offers courtesy security patrol every evening. I also appreciate the three locks on my door for the added security. The community is also ascetically pleasing if you are a nature lover. Emerald Forest is very close to shopping malls, parks, and schools. While, these apartments are a bit older (built in 2001),I would recommend this apartment complex to anyone starting out or looking for a reasonably-priced residence within the Southpoint area of Durham.
