The maintenance staff is flaky - if you ask them to call before coming it may take longer, and chances are they won't show on the day or time you requested.
The front office can be uptight - try paying your rent on the 6th and they'll refuse your check, they only accept cashier's checks for 'late' payments.
It can be unsafe: The neighborhood next door is run down, and during our six months residence there was one mugging and two burglaries.
