I've lived here 14 years and I've seen the complex go up and down as to how good it is to live here. the management has changed so often that there's been no consistency in attitude on enforcing the rules. And yes, there's lots of loud music and partying outside (we now have a curfew on the kid being outside late and it is being enforced). And in parts of the complex the water pressure is low. They keep trying to fix it, but they don't have enough maintenance folk (they're over-stretched too). For those who care, they have a monthly community watch meeting and the management has listened. we also have a police officer on-site and the security firm that drives thru. Once they close the open gate on Garrett Road, there will be only 1 way in and out and then they'll really be able to watch who goes in and out. Yes, there are gang and drug problems there and people love to dump their cars in the complex (hence part of the parking problem) and yes, it's not an ideal place to live.....but you pay for what you get. the rent is cheap and, by the way way, there are alot of good, hardworking folk that live there. I haven't had any real problems living here and will continue to do so.

What you say is exactly right but they said they were going to close the gate (which is already in place btw) more than 2 months ago and its stil open. Ive tried calling the on-site officer's number one night at about 10pm and got an answering service for the apartment complex. I dont know about you but Ive not seen the "captial special police" in a few months either. Ive also applied to help out with fixing up the place and they want to hire contractors instead (probably so they can justify raising my rent again next year). I believe that almost 600 dollars for this place is too high especially when 3 or 4 years ago I was paying 510. At least no one has burned any buildings out lately so thats kind of nice... but its slowly sliding back the way it used to be back around 2000-2001 with drugs and gangs and large groups of people loitering all over the place. If you own a gun you might feel safe here... otherwise probably not.
