My husband and I have lived here for 9 months now, and we are very pleased! It is safe, pleasant, convenient, and a great value for the money. We have a dog and a cat, so it's really nice to be at such a pet-friendly apartment complex. The lake and trails in the area are perfect for us, not to mention the city dog park one block away. Convenient to both of our workplaces (RTP) and to Southpoint mall, grocery stores, restaurants, freeway, etc. The apartment staff are always helpful and reliable. They take our packages for us when we're away and get things in the apartment fixed on time. They also respond to us by phone or e-mail when we have a concern or question. They also host events for the community such as summer pool party, holiday festival for kids and community yard sale. I like the guest suite at the complex, which we can reserve for our out-of-town guests at such a reasonable rate. The only downside to the apartment complex is that the mailbox is located far from our apartment door. Overall, I highly recommend this place to people who want a good value for their money and/or who are new to the area.

I completely disagree with your comment that this is a safe place to live. I'm sure it's safe when you have a husband and a 'pet' however, if you're a single female without a dog there is absolutely NOTHING safe about living here. I experienced 3 gang related shootings, 2 right out side of my apartment. I personally called the police on 2 occassions. The police department did NOT respond to either call. Upon reporting this to management, the best they could do was have a 'community' meeting with a Durham police officer present. I can't tell you the number of countless times I've been watched by groups of young men as I exit my car to go inside my apartment. They watch every move I make and if I'm carrying packages inside, they are espically interested in those. The noise from my neighbors is horrible. I endured the agony of listening to the fighting and physical abuse that 2 women experienced as their significant others beat them. One was upstairs and the other in the apartment to my left. I called the police both time but they did not respond. Another neighbor from upstairs has 2 small boys around the ages of 3-6 years and for some reason she lets them stay outside after dark...they spend their time pounding on my front door. Again, THIS IS A HORRIBLE PLACE TO LIVE. I'm glad you live in a protected fantasy world.
