I'm not a huge proponent on posting reviews on sites like this, but after reading a few of these reviews, I felt as though someone should give a fair and honest assessment of this apartment complex. I moved to Pine Ridge almost a year ago, and was attracted to the apartment complex because it was cheap. You won't find a cheaper apartment complex in Durham. That's about all Pine Ridge has going for it, cheap rent. After moving into my apartment, I soon realized that I had an bug infestation problem. I have killed millipedes, silverfish,spiders,rollie polies, and the ubiquitous house centipede on more than one occasion. Besides the bug problem, prospective and current residents should be aware of the crime in this apartment complex. In December '08, my car was broken into and my navigation system was stolen. Although it was partly my fault for being absent-minded to leave it in there; however, residents shouldn't have to be worried about their cars being broken into. Two weeks after my car was broken into, the apartment complex experienced a rash of car break-ins. I remember waking up one morning and counting where 10-15 cars had had their windows broken.

On a scale of 1 to 5, I would rate this apartment complex a 2.

I don't know what complex you lived at but it doesn't sound like Pine Ridge! I lived there for 18 months (just moved out) and had NO problems. No bugs, no theft. I never once saw "10-15 cars" with their windows broken in (that is a pretty big variance, incidentally). I don't know where you think you could live in Durham and keep valuables out in your car. Stuff just gets stolen if you leave it out, I'm not sure how that is Pine Ridge's fault. I never saw bugs, they fixed stuff quickly (such as a clogged drain, which is technically my fault), they even refunded my pet deposit when my dog adoption didn't work out. I got 100% of my deposit back, which is more than I can say for any other place I've ever lived. The landscaping was very nice especially for the money, and the pool and gym were kept up well. Honestly, I don't know what you have to complain about.
