A real review from someone who LIVES here

Here is an honest review about the LIVING experience by someone who has been living for a yr. Because the person that wrote about the "Lexus sponsored event" clearly works in the office in order to have knowledge of this and to have taken the time to post about such a silly event. Since when does a cool pool party and overpriced cars make an apt complex livable.
Units are well designed for space and the option of deck and sunroom make it feel like a house. Spacious kitchen and decent cabinets. The master bath good be bigger but again everything is designed well that it does not feel crowded.
- Soundproofing is ridiculous. A bunch of us in the neighborhood can hear others washing laundry, having sex, walking around. Part of this is the construction. Part of this is lack of consideration of those that live on the third floor.
- Gate and security. There is usually an attendant though this is not always the case. I do like that they keep the gate close at times unlike other complexes in the area. The unit security system makes me feel safe and I do use it.
- Parking has become impossible lately because the complex allows units to have 3-4 cars to park it for days while others that have one car have to park several units away. They recently issued parking passes and strict towing rules but I find it hilarious that office staff that live in the complex don't even have these stickers on.
- Pet clean up. I like how they installed dog stations and a lot of people use this but I see people on a daily basis not using this and not cleaning up. And apparently someone got a "pit bull" puppy and does not clean up after it. The hygiene of this and the fact that it is a pit bull concerns me.
- Loitering and trash. There are some units that have deck parties and most of the time they keep the noise reasonable. There are cigarette butts all over these units in the grass which is upsetting to those with children or pets. There also on any given morning beer cans and wet towels found around the pool.
Services -There is a laptop library which I find useless as most people have a computer. I do miss having the printer and fax which I used on those minor occasions that I had to fax something. Most complexes have this so don?t understand the reasoning behind this. Airport service is from 10-5 which is inconvenient because many travel from 7:00am ? 9:00 am which this does not service. There is NO playground, volleyball court, tennis court just a sludgy pond and a pool with broken furniture. No car wash center but hey we get to test drive Lexuses. Sorry for the sarcasm but I just can?t get over it. I feel that my rent should offer some of these things.
Overall I like South Terrace compared to other friends? complexes I have visited. The units are the real selling point of this place. But I do have to say that there is a certain ghetto feeling that is starting to settle over this place in the last few months. I have yet to see office staff walking around the premise but I will give them the benefit of the doubt since I am not there during office hours. Rumor has it that some of them live on the premise so you would think some of the trash would be noticed. I guess I am stuck comparing them to the original staff which I felt was more visible and responsive. I can say that almost all the residents are friendly and neighborly but a lot of us have the concerns that I have listed above. I ?think? management is great but I want them to prove it and see it in action. Like other apt staff in the area, I think they are just concerned with getting people in here and not really heeding the concerns of past and present leasers.
