Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2005
The apartments themselves are very nice.
*They are well-designed, provide ample space, and have a lot of windows and sunshine. I really love the coziness and layout of the apartment.
* The apartments are well-insulated, which makes them quieter and easier on electric in the wintertime. (I live in an apartment building with a lot of dogs, and hear them outside of my apartment, but never inside, which is nice.)
* The fact that the security gate is monitored at times is wonderful, but otherwise, as with most gated apartments, lends a false sense of safety. FYI, if safety is the most important factor in an apartment, then Durham is not the locale for you. However, I have felt much safer here than I have in other Durham locations.
* My neighbors have all been incredibly nice.
* The close proximity to the dog park is very nice if you have a pooch like I do. I see my neighbors there as well.
* For humans, there is a walking path and a bike path close by.
* Where I am there is always ample parking.
* Overall, I am very content with the service and those everyday aspects of the community.
Bad points
* The office staff are helpful at times, but be sure to document which checks you have given them because they tend to be disorganized in their accounting. I have had three occasions where they "notified" me that I had an outstanding balance, when they either had a computer error, lost the check receipt for the deposit, or did not understanding their own fee/payment records. On every occasion I was guilty until proven innocent, and they were not necessarily nice about the situation even after I proved them wrong. This is really the only complaint I have.
In all, I would recommend this community for it's spaciousness, price, and value- but be alert in all business dealings. SROlYjGrgm2VnM-SactV
