We lived at South Terrace for the past 5 months. The size of the apartment was ok. There are a few things that make you aware of not living in a newer community. The most recent was that all windows in the apartment don't seal correctly. After we reached some cold temperatures lately during night actually all windows were wet inside and there is mold behind all blinds. The front office then told us to run the heat at night, then the windows would not get wet from the inside. That is the most pitiful answer you can get. Fixing it is not an option for them. Instead they ask you to pay much more for heating. Ridiculous !!!

The maintenance staff is friendly. The front office staff seems friendly, but you are never sure whether they take care of your requests.

The gate is not always working and it might take them a few weeks or months to get it repaired if it is broken. That happened during summer this year. It took forever. The guard is very friendly. There is just no way in knowing when he is there and when he is not there. Most of the times he is not there.

The fitness room received new equipment. It is far from being state of the art, but at least they got some equipment in there. The fitness room and the equipment is not clean at all though. The cleaning personnel is doing a horrible job at South Terrace, which can make it a quite disgusting experience.

The construction of the apartment is probably average. If you got loud neighbors living above your apartment you will hate that place.

Since we lived there during summer we used the pool on weekends a lot. I think that was ok. My wife thought they needed to clean the pool more often and more thoroughly.
The pool house or club house is closed and will be opened on occasion only. Actually the only ones I have seen in there were the employees of South Terrace.

They may promise you a few things that are actually not available. So be aware of them making promises and offering services that do not exist in any way. You may want to get these things in writing. That will show you real quick whether they were lying or not. If it is not true they will refrain from signing any of their promises.

All in all I would not move in there again if I had to. There are better and much newer places out there in the same price range. You will hear loud music from cars. Noise is a problem there.
For a short term it was ok. Long term it is just not worth the money.

I just moved from South Terrace and I agree with your review whole-heartedly. I was promised upgrades to my apartment and never recvd them during my 14 month lease. I called the office left voice mails and wrote letters. It didnt matter. They change management so much that the tenants go lacking in all requests and promises. I recall the place being bought and sold at least 3 times of my residency. Management will ignore you, no matter how much you beg. They are good sales persons, they lure you in and then ignore you. They will never live up to any promises, even if in writing, trust me, I tried for 14 months. My stove went haywire in March 2008, when I left it was still broken. Walls are paper thin, neighbors are now mostly college kids so if you are up for loud music, loud card games, cars in the parking lot zooming fast with loud music, college kids getting in fights and cursing each other out in the hallways and running up and down the steps, groupies taking up all the parking spaces from residences, glass from broken beer bottles in the parking lot after the weekend parties, beer cans left on the lawn, your car getting broken into and management not notifying the community because "its not there job to do so" per Management at the front office... and management that doesnt care this is the place for you. You cant beat the square footage of the apartments. The landscaping is immaculate, but its not worth the terrible customer service or the crime rate developing in that neighborhood. Dont move here and at the end of your lease RUN!
