I must concur with those who found Southpoint Crossing Apartments lacking in quality service and environs. I have recently moved out of state but lived there for three years. In that time I suffered through a snow storm in which my power was disconnected for 10 days. Not only did I have to find a hotel to stay at, but Southpoint Crossing refused to lower my rent for the month in which my apartment was unliveable.
I also had serious mold problems around the windows of the main bedroom of the apartment that went ignored for years. I eventually had to devise a scheme to prevent moisture from building up on the windows which helped only marginally. The windows were always sweating and letting moisture in. After reporting this several times to the staff and having "repair" men come by to look at it, all they could do was throw their hands up. They did absolutely nothing to fix the problem.
Finally, the staff is quite rude. I was threatened with a lawsuit for simply disputing with Amy Leber the finer points of landlord tenant law in North Carolina (I just graduated from law school). I simply tried to correct a mistatement of the law she made and she promptly threatened to sue me. On top of that, when I was having my move-out inspection my mother who is 66 years old came with me to help me pack and clean. I was originally told that I and the inspector would walk or ride the cart together to my apartment to look it over. Amy Leber looked at me and my mother who was somewhat winded from the original walk and forced us to walk back to the apartment while she rode in her golf cart. I have reported this conduct to the better business bureau and think it is unconscionable. Perhaps others have had a better experience, but I did not. I was a good tenant who never caused any problems and was treated with a good measure of disrespect.
