Never again! A horrible experience.

Years at this apartment: 1999 - 2001
They quoted $100.00 less monthly rent over the phone then what the actual lease stated when we moved in. The apartment was brand new when we moved in. However, SEVERAL PROBLEMS happened. We had to give our sofa away when we move in because it would through the doorway. Water leaked in through the windows in the bedrooms. It was reported several times to the apartment office as a work order without response or when the response did come the problem was not fixed over 2 years of living there. I believe there was a structual problem b/c they applied sealant to the outside of the windows and it did not fix it. We had severe mold around the windows and it made all three of my children severely sick. When I told the apartment manager this, she was not knowledge that mold made people sick. I had to show her documentation from the U.S.E.P.A. to support my claim. We were released from our lease a month early due to the mold causing our children to be sick. One of my sons had been to the doctor 10 times in a 4 month span. He had reactive airway disease from the mold and was hospitalized once. We had several sleepless nights, and missed several days of work and school. This happened over a 2 year period and it took us awhile to realize that the mold on the windows was causing our children to be sick. This was very stressful and was a financial hardship. Our bathtubs continously stopped up and did not drain properly. Dead and live insects were in the apartments most the time, mostly spiders and crickets. The apartment was never exterminated to take care of this problem. Noisy music could be heard occasionally from the neighbor right next to us which meant that the walls were not insulated enough. Security was a problem. Two break-ins happened to our neighbor's vehicle, a neighbor's motorcycle was stolen and our motorcycle was stolen. This all happened on different occassions. The rent increase was over $100.00. The grounds were beautiful around the apartment office but not over the whole area. The only part that I did enjoy was the pool. However, that was not without a problem. A swing around the pool fell down when my son was sitting on it.
We have since relocated to a high quality apartment for the same price.
