This complex is not all that old. On the surface, it looks well-built.

When you go to open the blinds in the master bedroom, you find one of the windows is completely steamed with humidity, even on a hot dry day. "Oh, they're all like that" explains the maintenance man, who refuses to replace the window.

Then you go to open the dishwasher door and the whole dishwasher falls three inches on one side due to rot in the countertop where it mounts. Repair is done with glue. Drops again 2 days later.

The view from the deck must be great, no' Yeah it's great if you like watching the thugs coming down from the shopping center to buy their drugs in the apartment building next door. They're not in the least bit low-key about it, alerting all to their presence with the thumpity-thump-thump-thump of their obnoxious subwoofers. This goes on at ALL hours of the night.

The walls are thin. Unless you are on the third floor, you will hear EVERYTHING going on above you. The walking, the TV set, even the sex lives of the people who live above you. In great detail. Keep in mind I am hearing impaired, 50dB of loss in each ear, and I knew all the sordid details of what the college girls upstairs were into due to the poor sound proofing.

The parking lot is very dangerous. People drive through at incredible speeds, cutting corners and ending up on the wrong side of the road. Lots of thugs with their racing motorcycles burning out in the parking lot, or running glasspack mufflers on their cars and making a point of letting everyone know about it.

Big dogs are permitted. The lady downstairs had 4 or 5 dogs and would often let them go without a leash. Staff didn't car. Dog poop is everywhere. When you drive by in the golf cart the grass looks nice but heaven forbid you try walking in it.

There is a car wash facility but good luck getting into it. Much of the time there is a full size conversion van in there. After he's done washing it, he polishes & waxes it INSIDE the car wash booth. No consideration for others. I never did get a chance to use it myself.

There is trash and discarded food all over the place, in the hallways, etc. I expect rats to infest the place soon if they haven't already.

The pool is usually occupied by people who don't even live at Southpoint Crossing. They bring liquor, and several times a year the pool is closed and drained to removed glass from broken beer and liquor bottles. The people who occupy the pool are very territorial and harrass the actual residents who try to use the pool. The apartment staff refuses to hire a lifeguard to check tags to make sure only residents are using the pool facilities.

They lure you in with cheap rent and then right before your lease is due for renewal they drop the bomb on you with a huge rent increase.

The 5-star ratings you see here are fake, perpetrated by the apartment management to try and lure you in. Don't fall for it. This place is a dump. There was a rapist running around at one point. Cars are being stolen. Apartments are being broken into.

I can't tell you how many times the maintenance crew "accidentally" tried letting themselves into my apartment! They just let themselves in without any appointment or anything, with no concern for your safety or privacy.

The office staff appears friendly on the surface but they often misplace paperwork, always to your detriment. Office staff organization is very poor. They often make promises and conveniently "forget". Basically they tried getting some attractive looking people that could "sell" leases but once you're in it all changes.

Rent jumped over $150 when the lease renewed!

I was thinking of moving into Southpoint Crossing because it is a gated community in a nice area. This review is very alarming! Can anyone offer a response?
