I agree with the other guy; this place is not worth the price.

There seem to be a lot of water line problems in the complex. At least 6 times over the 18 months I lived there, water was shut off the my building. I received advance notice of this every time but once. Advance notice at Springfield consists of a note rubber-banded to your door around 10:00 p.m. the night before, so if you don't go outside before your morning shower, you'll get stuck. (I had the water cut off during my morning shower twice :)

The office staff is friendly. Maintenance is poor. I complained about a leaking dishwasher twice, but it was never fixed. My upstairs neighbor let her washing machine overflow once, and it took many calls and several weeks to get the damage to my apartment repaired.

Walls are thin. My first neighbor made my life a living hell with his 1,000,000-watt stereo. The office staff was sympathetic, but gutless. The ------boy neighbor moved out after 9 months, and I never heard a peep out of the new folks living there.

They entered my apartment without notice once, and let my cat out. But, they at least had the smarts to call me at work and let me know I needed to come home and find my cat. Parking can be a problem in the evenings.

The pool is nice and well maintained. Grounds are kept in very good condition. The exercise room is well equipted.

In this area of Durham, you must be very security conscious. In the much worse apartment complex next door, a young Duke student was murdered one night after a man broke in to her ground floor apartment. On the other hand, I had lots of female neighbors, and none of them expressed feeling unsafe at Springfield.

Lots of shopping close by. Access to RTP is about 20 minutes. vWhRVi5nYYIuEh4W7K3l
