aesthetically nice but not a good deal

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2005
 
I liked the high ceilings and the hardwood floors. But there were roaches galore, severe building upkeep problems (a fire broke out in one building due to neglected electrical wiring, a roof caved in on one woman's bedroom). The neighborhood also is only moderately safe.
