Most of the reviews posted by the former or current tenants are true. First of all, the management staff hired to attract tenants do their job very well. Prospective tenants are greeted promptly and the staff are very friendly. A new tenant can easily be wowed by the "BENEFITS" of living at Waterford Village. The property was kept clean and the model apartment was very nice. My fiance and I decided this would be a great place to live. What happened once we signed the contract is a different story.

On the day that we were informed the apartment would be ready and turned over to us the new carpet was still being layed down. Frustrated we waited the few hours to move in. When we conducted our initial inspection of the apartment we found hair, onion peels, Q-tips, dirt, etc. in the drawers. It was clear that our apartment was not prepared for new tenants. There was an ant infestation in the apartment, which could have been a result of the heat, and management had done nothing to immediately correct the problem. We ended up with mold on our base boards as a result of a flood caused by a pipe cracking in our water heater. The nightmare is the tenants above our apartment who literally pound on the floor to move around. Everytime we've tried to address it with them, they have refused to answer the door. From what other tenants are claiming I'm sure the management staff will do nothing to correct that issue as well.

If you've read this far you already know . . . look elsewhere. I have several friends in the area who have excellent living conditions where they reside. So there are several options other than Waterford Village Durham, NC.
