This is the best place to live in the Triangle.

The location is great - you can walk to tons of restaurants, galleries, book stores, a music store, ballgames, the Carolina Theater, etc. The historical buildings have interesting architectural features with wood floors and high ceilings. The management and maintenance staff are professional, helpful and efficient. The management staff bend over backward to make good residents happy, and the maintenance staff often go above and beyond the call of duty. The management provides a variety of events for residents, including the current Warehouse Blues series (open to the public). Seeing people walking their dogs in the courtyards provides a friendly, chatting atmosphere that I haven't experienced elsewhere. There's an interesting range of ages and professions among the tenants. Security is good, and I'd feel very safe here even without the presence of the police substation. Granted, the noise insulation and storage could be better, but if we hadn't found West Village we'd have turned down my company's relocation offer, since it's the only place in the Triange that I'd want to live in. After reading some of the other reviews on this site, I wonder if it's West Village's drug-free policy that really bothered them, since they're obviously on something to have that kind of attitude.
