Overall, great, but depends on the building

The complex is an adaptive re-use of industrial buildings from the tobacco business. All the buildings are architecturally interesting, with an industrial flavor - high ceilings, open ductwook, wood floors - yet well laid-out and functional as residences. However, some buildings are better built than others. Toms and Hicks were pure warehouses, so the windows are rather small, and if they fact north, the lofts can be a bit dark. Nor is the noise insulation as good as in Flowers and Cooper, which also have big windows and more natural light. (I can't speak to the new buildings.) The whole place is cool if you like living downtown and walking to restaurants, shops, a movie theater, the farmer's market, the ballpark, etc. There's plenty of parking, a great staff that goes out of their way to help, a gym, business center, and now a pool. Having a police sub-station in the complex is also nice. Apartments are most often available in Toms and Hicks, where the living is still darn good. But if you're at West Village for the long term and you can afford it, it's worth moving to one of the other buildings when there's an opening. Current residents get first crack.
By the way, the address of the office is 604 W. Morgan St. 212 N. Duke is the Hicks building, purely residential and locked, so don't go there looking for the staff!
