This was my first apartment, and overall I recommend it for affordable, convenient living.


Pros:


1. Variety of residents: students, professionals, families, different ethnicities and age groups.


2. Relatively quiet.


3. Great location, price. On busline.


4. Quick maintenance responses.


5. Clean grounds.


6. Great natural light in bedroom.



Cons:


1. Weird smell coming from vicinity of pipes in bathroom and kitchen. Smell will leave, but will always return. Probably from aging apartment.


2. Bug report: Silverfish occasionally can be spotted on walls or floors in any room; also 2 giant black cockroaches in bathroom. Maintenance sprayed unit after these were sighted, and I haven?t seen any since; 4 small brown cockroaches in the kitchen during the last 10 months. Not a bad record for bugs, really.


5. Parking lot not well-lit. Another resident told me her car was broken into in the parking lot.


6. Toilet malfunctions. Deposits can resurface up to hours later, despite mechanical parts being replaced in toilet. Again, an apartment age issue.


7. MICE. This is a September development. They chewed up my oven mitt and have pooped in kitchen drawers and around the perimeter of rooms. Maintenance response was prompt--they set 4 traps and promise to check them regularly. They said mice were found in one other building in the complex, and that?s it.



Verdict: clean, well-priced, good location, not REALLY scary.
