Please do not move here. I was a resident at Yorktowne and was able to break my lease due to the problems I was having there. During the winter time my Duke energy bill was extreamly high due to the inefficient heating unit and the terrible windows.. by the time I left I had to pay close to 800 dollars to Duke Power..Yes this is no exaduration. Yorktowne apartments are poorly insulated if insulated at all. I had problems with mice YES MICE and they would give me glue traps but not get to the root of the problem so I had to deal with mice bitting into my closed foods eating through them and there droppings... The one good thing I can say is though staff isn't the greatest the did the best with what they have to work with...Ashley the manager a very sweet girl but can present herself as unprofessional by the way she talks and comes dressed to work. Most of the time when I saw her she looked stressed out but dealing with Yorktowne I can see why...mostly senior citizens stay there and I'm sure they don't complain much well I complained and got the hell up outta there... I believe there was some discrepencies before I moved in like the place wasn't ready for vacancy...but this is just a summary I had problems with plumming when I'd take a show I'd be standing in a pool of water. There are alot of disadvantages to staying here. Parking OMG sometimes I had to park way out on the side of the road because it was jam packed..that was frustrating too...imagine having to walk half a mile seems like in pitch black with your children...no comforting....

My neighbor's apartment got broken into...she moved out and I believe they still required for her to pay rent even though she didn't stay there...Just please I beg you don't move here...your best bet is to move and a place that has a landlord like a Condo or Townhome not in a community...Most have problems like this so it's no surprise. Before you get yourself into a situation worse off do your research and weight out your options...I know moving is hard but when you find that place y ou'll know it and don't settle for less...this is your hard earned money at stake. yorktowne yes have big apartments and townhouses. but the apartments have water bugs everywere. but overall the office staff is good but not grounds workers. you can haer your neiburgs talk and walking. you have to have a parking permit to park and if you more then two cars you have to park on the street. if you like bugs inyour apartment go of head and live their because their in your house to. this place is gangland.this your warning stay away
