Well I am currently living at Briarwood now but in the process of looking for another place to live. I had moved in with my boyfriend this past summer, he has been living here for about 5 years before we meet. When I first moved in, I was pleased with the way the office staff was helpful and seemed to know what they were doing. My boyfriend had some "minor" problems but was all was fixed within a fashionable time. But within 3 months after moving in, the problems started.
Our first problem was that our bathtub was backing up and the water was not draining. We called maintenance to have someone come out to fix it, the office told us they would come out the same day. But the maintenance guy didn't show up till the next day. I called the office at least 4 times in one day to find out what was going on. The office staff told me they "don't know what is going on and will page him". But I guess he missed the page that day and got it 24 hours later. Well, he showed up the next day fixed the tub. Well we figured it was fixed from that point, so no problem.
Then one month later same problem again and our a/c went bust. (Now if you have lived here the a/c here are awful and seems to break all the time) So we call maintenance to have someone come out again and was told he would be here the same day. Well, he never showed up the same day. Then on top of this the water to the whole complex was turned off. Called the office apparently, there was some issues at another building and the water needed to be turned off. The office staff also told me all the maintenance workers are there trying to fix it. Ok, no problem, then I asked the staff worker "If you knew this, why did you tell me that someone was going to be at my apartment today to fix the issues I am having'" And that is when I was hung up on by the staff person. Needless to say, I was very very upset and someone got in trouble for it the next day.
Well, moving on I didn't get someone to fix our tub till about 4 days later. And I had advised him about our a/c was not working to take a look at it. So he went outside to see the a/c units near our building and never came back. He was gone for about an hour, during this time I checked to see if our tub was draining ok. Well, it wasn't and to top things off the maintenance worker used one of my nice towels and was kind enough to put it in my cleaning bucket. It was soaked with water and had some type of oil or something on it. Needless to say, it was ruined and he didn't even bother to tell me what he did. So, I called the office to complain about what happened and that he was gone for an hour with no word on what was going on w/ our a/c. Well, I was told they would page him again to find out the status of the a/c and that they will "talk" to him about the towel.
Well, I had to go pick up my boyfriend's son from school and run errands. We got home around 4pm and checked to see if the a/c was working, nope, it wasn't. Called the office again to find out what the heck is going on. I was told by two different office staff workings that they have to order a part for the a/c and once the part gets in it will be fixed. Ok, thats reasonable so I left alone.
One week goes by, a/c still not working so I decided to pop in the office personally. Was told that the part still wasn't in yet and to check back later. And my I remind you this is around the beginning of December when it was getting in the 80's and it was warm. Well its two weeks now and still no a/c, so back to the office again to find out what is going on. Was told again that the part wasn't in yet and that we still have to wait. I had advised the office staff that its hot in our apartment and we need the a/c fixed. Then I get the "nice, oh we know but there is nothing we can do about it speech". So I politely leave and get on w/ getting ready for the holidays. Now its three weeks and still no a/c, my boyfriend calls to find out what is taking so long and he gets "the part is on backorder and we don't know when its going to come in." He then asked if we can have a window unit for the time being till it gets fixed, he was told no.
At this point we were getting upset and wanting answers. He called the office the beginning of the third week and called again that Sat. We had it, we checked the temperature in the apartment and it was 87 degrees in here, even w/ the glass sliding door opened. When he called we got the most funniest answer yet to date from the office staff here, she had no idea about our a/c needing any part and nothing about it needing to be fixed. So, for three weeks we were LIED to and they had no plans on fixing our a/c. We demanded someone fix it that day and she told us she would page maintenance to come out to fix it, we gave her our phone numbers and names. Well, we waited an hour no one called or showed up. We call her again, she said that the maintenance man claimed to have called us and no one picked up. We informed her that we have been home the whole time and he is lying because he NEVER called. Then she sighs and tells us she will call him again. We wait for another 30 mins. and still nothing. We call the office again and guess what, the office is closed now and we have to call the after-hours' number.
At this point we were jerked around, lied too, and very upset. Well, fast-forwarding to now, it took another week for someone to fix our a/c without needing this "so called part" that everyone lied to us about. And to top it off, as I am typing this, our water pipe busted last night flooding our kitchen floor and it took me calling the office staff 4 times today to finally send someone out here. We were told last night maintenance would be here around 9am to fix our water pipe, he didn't show up till 1pm.

I totally agree with you! They always need a "part" they are ordering... They do nothing but lie about it and just need to give up. If they aren't going to run an apartment complex right, they need not run one at all!
