Ladies... take it from me, not the best place to live

I have to be honest and say that i never had any serious problems here. My husband and and I are both military and we just kept to ourselves and at first we had good neighbors. I lived towards the front of the complex which has a lot less problems I think. I still felt paranoid when talking my dog out at night I kept a knife with me just in case. Eventually this really creepy guy moved in across from me so I tried to avoid him, he played his music extremely loud at late hours of the night. One time when we were going to the laundry facility a fight was breaking out between two groups of guys. One guy had a metal rod behind his back and was probably about to hit the other guy with it. Other than that it was fairly quite except the gunshots I did hear on a few occasions. One night I heard people arguing outside and it ended with gunfire. I have also seen the forensics van for the Fayetteville police department parked in several places throughout the complex. Most of that I believe is domestic violence as sad as it is. I don't know for sure though but I really don't want to. If you ignore the crime that the others have talked about I can still say honestly that you are in for a disappointment with the buildings. They are old and falling apart and they do not really clean the apartments that well before the new tenants moved in I didn't have a roach or pest problem but if you have dirty neighbors I can see how it might come up. I saw two roaches the whole time I lived there and I am an insane cleaner when it comes to my own place. If you have children beware because you will have to sign a waiver for the lead paint in the wall. Granted you have to chew on the wall to get the lead but with a young child you never know. The appliances are old and there is no garbage disposal or dishwasher. My apartment had wood paneling that was just painted over with white paint. If you are a single male looking for a cheap place this place is probably okay to live. Just get a second story apartment since the windows are not the best protection against a break in. I never had a problem with theft but I lived on the second floor which is much more difficult to get into. If you have a family or if you are a single woman do not live here. We bought a door jam when we first got here just in case as an extra line of defense. We never had a problem though. You probably won't see a lot of terrible things here but you won't see the best of things either. Anyway, I tried to be fair here to my personal experience. I had decent neighbors most of the time I was here and it was pretty quite 98% of the time but it's really not the best place to live. If you can afford a better place live in a newer building you will be glad that you did. If you do end up living here just keep to yourself and get a place closer to the front of the complex by the bank. That area seems to be a lot better. Ladies you will probably be alright here but why take that chance, you probably read the other horror stories. Get a safer place if for no other reason than peace of mind for yourself and your family.
