I lived in Carlson Bay for 2 years (moved January 2007) and while I felt that for the size of and HORRIBLE lay out of the 1 br I was in that they were extremely overpriced BUT you could do a hell of a lot worse.

I never had any noise problems to speak of. The parking problems are totaly true. Its so bad people park in the handi cap and fire zones (there are NO assigned spots). In my 2 years I saw multiple vehicle breakins, 1 car theft, and countless motorcycle thefts. NOTE THIS... this is going to occure NOT MATTER WHERE YOU LIVE in Fayetteville. The place is a flat out hell hole and short of installing your own closed circut video system there really isnt ---- you can do about it. Hope your car has a good alarm and that you dont own a motorcycle.

So... crappy parking situation... Fayetteville is a cess pool... that leave the APt itself. The kitchen is TINY... tiny to the point where you cannot open the oven and any of the lower cupboards at the same time. Should you open any of the upper cupboards you will have to close said cupboard before you move as you will be traped behind its door unless you duck under it. On top of that however the cupboards are to shallow to house any normal size plate, be it laying down or tilted verticaly. This forces you to lay your plates with the eating surface facing the door and standing verticaly. Again... designed by the functionaly retarded. You also cannot have a trash can in the kitchen due to space issues and there is no space for a microwave. The Bathroom door opens INTO the bedroom door so one or the other can be open... humm what else.... Who ever designed these units was functionaly retarded. OH YEAH.... the mold...... The creeping black death that will eat your cat and take over your airconditioner ! I almost forgot. My Neighbors AC unit froze over due to condensation. When said AC unit thawed it seeped under my wall and turned the whole place into a crazy fungus wonderland. No joke it took over about 1/4 of the living room floor. In the bathroom the toilet would grow some sort of fungus in the holes from which the water flushes into the bowl. This lead to a very weak flushing toilet. When I say very weak I mean 98% usless short of holding the handle for 1-2 mins. The same fungus grew in the shower under any crevas or lip and unless scrubed weekly would stream down in what looked like little tuffs of hair.

I dont know what else to say. Aside from some frustrating design issues and Fayettevilles general trashiness and more mold that I can even convey with words its really not a bad place to live. Its just not a good place by any means either.

SO if you have a good car alarm, you dont mind scrubbing mold, and want a good quiet apartment that was designed by the functionaly retarded CB's for you !

(Edit) almost forgot... the trash situation.. the Bins are always overflowing so you will have a scenic view of others peoples refuse everyday when you come home !
