Cumberland Trace is a great place for new couples to make a start and separated divorcing singles to retreat to. Cumberland Trace is a good place for the more humble and friendly residents on a budget. Cumberland Trace is 33 years old and makes no claims of being luxury living. With the age of the community exposed, expect older appliances and spackled over holes from residents decorating the past 3 decades, repairs on the walls and apartments crooked from settling. Expect stains and scratches and write them down on your move in inspection so you will not be charged upon move out. Do expect that the appliances work and are replaced if they need to and do enjoy one of the largest floor plans with the best closet and storage space. Do enjoy the woodsy setting and expect bugs to come in and do enjoy my favorite part of living at Cumberland Trace, the Cape Fear River Trail at the end of the street.
I have lived at Cumberland Trace for 4 years. My husband and I moved in 2001 and were originally looking at Tartan Place, but Cumberland Trace had a 2 bedroom on special for $530. The apartment was older, but we paid $530, so no complaints for the money we were paying. A year later, I started working for the company, UDRT, and lived at the sister property off Cliffdale. 2003 I found myself divorcing and needed to move back to Cumberland Trace because the price was $100 less on the Ramsey side of town
I moved to Cumberland Trace and started working there. We did not have luxury amenities or a nice gym, but we made up for that with community activities and the best customer service in the office. We had a work-out group, where we met in the office after hours and did weight lifting and pilates and lots of lunges. More importantly we made friends with the work out group girls. We had coffee club as another way to meet people. We had free DVD rentals in the office with complimentary popcorn. We made care packages for our deployed soldiers and entertained the wives through work-out group.
I was accused of flirting with a husband. All I could remember with any interaction was not charging him for bringing the movies back late and giving him popcorn with a smile. Would you think I was flirting if I told you I took a new resident around town showing them where the shopping was, downtown and going out to dinner with them and welcoming them to Fayetteville' That resident was a girl. The level of customer service was genuine niceness that could be mistaken for flirting. We had guys and girls coming to visit us in the office because we are nice. Wed have residents come back first thing after a deployment and our main source of traffic was resident referrals. I have been known to look the other way if someone had unauthourized pets and no money to pay for them. My bad, but I dont work there anymore.
Who are the women of Fayetteville that stay in apartments other than divorced army wives, dancers, teachers and the single locals' How can anyone insult a woman that is trying to make better in their life' I left Fayetteville and Cumberland Trace last October. I left with good memories of waving hello to all the residents smiling back and forth, good memories of my neighbors and friends I made and making the 141 building infamous with the annual Halloween Party!
Cumberland Trace may not be for everyone but if you take time to pick out a good apartment maybe that has new carpet and in a sunny location and maybe get in on a good special. She just might be the apartment you need for whatever situation you find yourself in or for your stay in Fayetteville.
