Thankful to be leaving!

The huge discounts are sooooo not worth it. My apartment has large rooms (except the micro-kitchen), but that is about the only "plus" to living there. First of all, there are no lights in the bedrooms, so you have to buy lamps for everything. The kitchen is VERY small, and the appliances are VERY OLD. They will not replace them until they don't work at all, even though you can't even read the settings on the knobs--that's how old they are.
But the worst part is the neighbors. There is constant loud music from loud, trashed-out cars in the parking lots. It starts at 7 in the morning and you will still hear it at 2 or 3 at night. Half the apartments are vacant, yet there is still never enough parking because some people have 10-12 people constantly in and out of 2 BR apartments. There are TONS of wannabe gangsters hanging around and teenagers with their pants around their knees walking up and down the streets being loud and obnoxious at all hours of the day and night. Office will not do anything about noise outside, although I do not usually hear anything from next-door neighbors through the walls.
I see a constant cycling of questionable people coming in and out of the parking lots. On two occasions, I have seen an envelope-for-money exchange going on right in front of my apartment. (Looks like drug-dealers to me, but what do I know about that stuff')
I have never really had to deal with maintenance, but they seem like pleasant people...although something odd happened to my door that could not have been done by someone without a key. (I would elaborate, but that would ruin anonymity.)
As far as the office staff goes, I think that since the apartment complex was bought out by new owners, most of the girls that used to work in there have been replaced by older, RUDER ladies.
Do not live here if you do not like dog poop. They seem to have no problem with tenants tying up their dogs to the railing on the patios and letting them stay outside all day and night with no one to pick up after them or watch them. I am talking about pitbulls. Also, they pretend to have a weight limit restrictions, but many people have dogs well over 100lbs.
As far as amenities...well it is June and the pool is not open although they sent out a notice in April saying it would be open "sooner than usual in May." The laundry room is a joke. There are 3 washers and dryers. They are always dirty, with detergent and dryer sheets all over the floor and the machines. The dryers are old and do not really work, and you have to pay for two cycles to get your clothes dry. The "workout room" consists of a weight bench (there are no weights) a treadmill that doesn't work, an elliptical that is old and creaky, and a stationary bike. Not much you can do in there.
Basically, DO NOT LIVE HERE. I was trying to save some money, but I definitely wished I had spent $100 more per month to live in a place I'm not scared to come home to.
