Like Cockroaches' Leaky Ceilings'

Do you like living with (big) cockroaches' Do you like leaky ceilings and poor maintenance' Then this is the place for you. And wait there's more...

There's goose and dog crap EVERYWHERE, and with the heat in the Summer it makes it all
the worse. I can't even go out on my 3rd Floor porch to sit without smelling it.

The funny thing about all of this is that I told the people at the office that I wanted a nice place without any leaks. First day I'm there I notice this big hole in the ceiling outside my apartment with an old piece of plywood barely attached to cover it up. Talk about a health hazard, I still want to report this to somebody to get their arses in some trouble. The worst part of all of this is that whenever it rains it leaks real bad. I mean this is some nasty nasty stuff with debree (drywall, paint chippings) and dead bugs (hornets, cockroaches) all over the floor.

So, recently I started to complain because somebody ripped the plywood out exposing the ceiling and insulation. The office told me they would get right on it, and what did they do' They stapled a black trash back to the ceiling to cover it up, yes a black trashbag.

Some other things I noticed is that the laundry area is poorly kept. It's always dirty and very hot in there. I often get ripped off at the machines, meaning I pay and nothing happens. There are also no change machines around.

From time to time in my apartment I smell this odd sewage stench. Whenever I do smell it either the bathroom sink or shower is clogged. One day I opened my dishwashing machine to find an enourmous cockroach coming out of there. The walls are thin. I can hear just about everything from my bedroom. And to top it off I think a drug dealer just moved in across the hall.

As far as rent and money goes, nothing is included. You have to pay separate for everything, even trash. They charged me a $300 administrative fee that I will never see again. They say that's for maintenance and things that happen along the way. Well I'm not sure about that because when I moved in here my bathtub was clogged and a few lightbulbs were burnt out.

Both pools are dirty and there is a tennis court without a net. I give them props for that because it used to be 1/2 of a tennis net at one point. I've noticed that people just let their dogs run around there, so I bet it's probably infested with dog crap and other things.

The rent is way too expencive. I pay $630 a month for a one bed and I can go down the street and get a two bed for the same price.

The neighborhood isn't bad for Fayetteville, which isn't saying much. I'm sure it's only gonna get worse and attract more weirdos with the new "Value Place" next door.

Parking is good. I have no complaints on that one. Mail recieving is good too. My airconditioner and my dishwasher work good too, never really had any problems with them yet.

I pretty much made the mistake of trusting the people at the office for honest people - but I guess I've learned my lesson the hard way. This place is definetly not worth the money I pay and really should be a last resort to anybody looking to move into this particular neighborhood. I would definetly suggest driving around to find something new because there are plenty of new apartments around here for the same price, if not cheaper. So beware of this apt complex and the people at the office. Don't buy into their phony B.S.
