It's a good apartment complex

I've been at the Village for a couple of years now. I've been here through several staff changes, and I must say I've never been treated with anything but respect from the staff. The maintenance staff was quick to respond to the two problems I've had. However, an area for which they are not responsible has gone unattended for too long--fixing the interior walls that were damaged during an exterior repair for water leakage. The reason given for the delay has been that the crew responsible for fixing the interior walls are currently working on the Phase II construction. I think this is a poor business decision in that most take pride in their living environment and don't want to endure popped nail holes and sheetrock cracks. Dog poop is an issue that the management has addressed with a $40 fine for anyone caught not picking up after their pet. Break-ins were a bit of a problem but management has worked to avoid any more break ins by trying to establish a neighborhood watch and, once Phase II is completed, making the complex gated. I particularly enjoy the covered parking that keeps me from having to scrape and wipe windows in the morning. The complex is well lighted. The staff does in fact host community gatherings to build a sense of commmunity among its residents and to get to know the residents better. The little honky tonk at the end of the road can be a bit loud on Saturday in the summer as they have a band that plays on the outdoor patio; however, they always end their playing by 11 pm. As far as location, that's up to the individual; however, I find that I can get to a movie, the mall, Ft. Bragg, and restaurant row within 25 minutes. As far as the rent goes, let's face it apartments are always more expensive than renting a house because the apartment complex has a payroll to meet, grounds and buildings to maintain, as well as extra amenities such as pool, sauna, and gym. I think you'll find the rent a bit lower than other complexes in town with similar amenities.
