Office staff friendly until you have any sort of problem

I can't wait to leave.
After living in the one bedroom for a couple and getting tired of the constant loud music at three in the morning M-F, my husband and I decided to upgrade to the townhouse. We asked the staff about the transition about it when we first signed out lease for the one bedroom and they simply told us that it would be a very simple transition with no additional fees.
That was definately not the case. When we first talked to them about moving, they told us that we would have to pay just over $1,000 in fees to move. I was furious at the random costs they were trying to get us to pay. However, after about a week of talking to the staff, they lowered it to $350 transfer fee and the double rent until we turned in the key... although I wasn't too fond of the transfer fee we agreed... it wasn't really that unreasonable. However, they informed us the day we were to sign our lease that the only townhouse they had available at the time was an end one which cost an additional $20 per month. We agreed even though, again, it wasn't completely reasonable.
When we went to check out the townhouse with a staff member, she told us that it was one of the nicest ones she had seen yet, with some of the newest appliances. The appliances were about as old as I was... however, the rest of the place was pretty nice looking, and we got a cute little deck.
The day after we signed the lease, the staff called us and "politely" reminded us to tell the power company to change over the account making sure to start at a date when everything (lights, heat etc) was turned on at that point making sure we would pay the costs.
We had only minor problems for two months, until we told one of our friends, who was deploying, we would look after her cat until she could find someone else to look after him. We had him for about a month before the staff found out about him. They sent a note before rent was due, because I got off of work after the office was closed I figured I could speak with them the next day about the cat and explain the situation. However, the next day before I was off of work they called my husband and reminded him about the cat. A couple days later, being annoyed that they would call my husband the next day, I went in to explain the situation and told them that the cat was a temporary thing and was going to be taken care of very soon. They were not willing to work with me at all saying he had to be gone the next day even suggesting giving my friend's cat to the pound.
I am so glad that my husband and I are deploying because I am sick of this place, the office staff are fake and money-hungry. They don't care about tenants, only about their reputation, which from the looks of it isn't the greatest, and money...especially money.
