THe staff was very attentive when securing your signature on the lease that they gloss over some stuff. I was straightforward in letting them know this was temporary with the end uncertain. Well had to end my lease short..and guess what, they socked me with termination fees that were never explained so 8 months from the time I moved out, I am still paying. So, BUYER BEWARE!
In response to RESPONSE #1. I laid out my plans to them at the beginning and trusted them to TELL ME what I should do (what type of lease I should secure)in view of the uncertainty of my stay (I was having a house built and the move-in date kept moving). I was given the "Oh just sign this lease, you can terminate it at any point anyway"...No..."if you did this and terminated you would be socked with $xx.xx fees or do a short term for $xx.xx more".

That comment was the most ridiculous comment I have ever read. This person signed I am guessing a 12 month lease and decided to break their lease and expected that they would not be responsible for anything. That is what is wrong with people nowadays...they don't want to take responsibility for their actions. They signed a binding contract for some length of time. If they wanted a short term lease than they shouldn't have signed a long lease. Using this outlet as to make Heather Park look bad is terrible. Apartments are a business just like purchasing a car is a transaction...you don't like the car after 3 months, you can't just expect to get out without penalty. Own up to your own mistake otherwise you are going to do something STUPID again.

wow. this sounds like an employee for sure, and I definitely don't want to live in a place that has employees like that! I'm glad i checked this out before I even visited.

I am definitely not an employee here but can't believe that an adult would sign something without even knowing what they're signing. You'd think the individual would be responsible enough to NOT place their decision in the hands of someone just trying to get a commission. It's your life, dude, you should make those decisions. Or, read what you sign if you place it in the hands of others..

IN RESPONSE TO ATAYLOR2829: Yeah, I did review all the documents before I signed it. And guess what? They did not include the 3 page attachment that detailed how they calculated penalties for early termination. All I had in the documentation I signed was a one sentence paragraph that said that they MAY assess penalties in case of early termination. Trust me, I tried to argue it out...even asked if they would let me pay difference between what I paid and the month-to-month rate from the beginning of my lease considering I had no documentation nor was the penalties explained...but of course they said no...!
