I see that it has been a while since someone left a review but conditions at Abbington place have gone from bad to worse. There has recently been a string of car break in's and a girls car was actually stolen from her parking spot.

There are alot of young people that just lurk around the community looking for trouble and breaking into peoples cars. Greensboro police department says that the Leasing office should take responsibility for security and when I went to talk to them they said "we dont have security here, the police should do more" It is a gated community but one or more of the gates are always broken. I mean ALWAYS, so it is very easy for someone to come in and do criminal activity and get away.

If you are one day late you get a letter threatening your eviction. Don't get me wrong, they do alot of things great here: for example they make sure they evict you if you are more than 48 hours late on rent. If your late 3 times your evicted. When he has to do with their money, they are wonderful. When it has to do with the safety of the community and getting rid of the tenants that are causing problems they need help. They know there has been over 6 break ins in the last 2 weeks, but they want to place blame on the police instead of taking it upon themselves to hire security or install cameras, hell they wont even keep the gates working properly.

If you are considering moving here please think twice. You could be victimized next!

This place should be called Abbington Hood....at the end of the day Babcock is only concerned about collecting their money. They dont care how ghetto you are as long as you can pay them rent....which might explain why there has been so many problems with drug trafficking and theft.

I completely agree. I posted a few times here about abbington place. After my car was broken into and nothing was done (at the time of the break-in (09/02/2008), the gate on our side had been broken for 4 months. The day after reporting the break-in it was fixed, then broke at least once a week after that. Girl's apt below us had been broken into. We finally got fed up with the deplorable service and expensive price just to live in fear. We bought a condo that's twice as big as the apt we had at abbington place and the mortgage is cheaper! If you're thinking about living in abbington place, think again!
