I am one of the college students living in the apt complex. I liked it because it was a nice mix of younger/middle-age couples/families and a few other college students. For the most part, the apts were quiet, nice, and a good place to come home too. I did not want to live near UNCG because certain areas are NOT safe and as a female living on my own, safety is important. As I've lived here, I've noticed more things that make me look forward to the end of my lease...
1. The pool has been 'broken' for months. You cannot even use the grill. The weather is warmer, but the water remains drained from the pool.
2. OFFICE - I went to the office to pick up a package and the woman was very rude! I was so suprised..honestly, I pay rent on time every month and have not come to the office unless it's for deliveries. Anyway, I went up there to see get my package and the woman looked at me, clearly annoyed by my request and asked me if I got a package slip (that is for my notification to make sure that I come get it! so duh! why else would I walk down there). She looked through the packages hastily and said she didnt see it..asking again if I was sure I got a package slip! FYI: All of the packages are lined up in their office, so it's really not a hassle to get them for a tenant.
2. They lost a lot of our (other tenants) rent checks and sent us a notice of late payment. After calling the office they said it was their fault, but they still needed a copy of the check we wrote...they had already cashed it so we needed the bank to verify payment. Also a pain!
3. Part of living in this apt (as advertised) is that they are very pet friendly. I would agree to that...I usually walk my dog up to the leasing office when I drop off rent, or pick up other things. One of the luxeries are the trash cans/bags located all around the apt complex for disposal of pet waste. About two months ago, they decided it was too expensive to supply the trash bags to pick up your pets waste...sooo they left them empty! Yet, there is a $250 pet fine if we don't pick up the animal poop! Problem...I think so.
4. I've noticed some sketchy people hanging out around the apt...a month ago I noticed a car parked outside of our apt building...I noticed the car while I was working at my comp (which is by the window). A man was sitting in his car w/ a computer trying to hack into/steal other people's unsecured internet! I (being the devious college kid I am) turned off the lights, got a big flash light, and pointed it directly at/on him and moved it around a little bit to let him know we "caught" him...he drove away (just down to the next building I'm sure). Also people sitting in their cars playing loud music w/ bass...kind of annoying in the evening!

5. Also, I'm not sure what they are building right as you turn out of the apt..but the entrance of the apt has been blocked, so if you are coming from guilford college area and need to make a left to get home it's not happening! You have to go down the street and make a Uturn. Not fun! You hear construction noises ALL day. The morning commute is not a problem (it's blocked in the late afternoon)..it's very convenient if you take I-40 everyday.

I was actually looking for the office fax number when I stumbled across this website and started reading other reviews. As a tenant, I wanted to share my comments b/c I would want as much info about an apt before I moved. Obviously, it is what you make of it...the apts are beautiful, but I'm not impressed w/ the staff at the price I pay. With the exception of the maintenance crew, the people who work in the office act like they have something shoved up their butts! We are the ones paying!

We other tenants also look forward to the end of your lease if you think just because you live here, the people working here owe you something. You are the reason the office staff is rude sometimes, which, they have always been super nice to me, and I've been here a while so...I'm not sure what that is about. 1. The pool being broken for months...who swims in an outdoor pool during the winter? The pool is repaired now, and should be open soon! And you can't use the grill when the pool isn't filled anyway. Thats insurance liability for the complex. Maybe when you graduate and grow up, you'll learn that you don't always get your way and that there are certain laws governing things like that. 2. I'm sure that the office staff has nothing better to do with their time than to serve your every need. I'm sure they don't have people coming in wanting to look at apts or anything like that. And I'm almost certain that you are the ONLY resident that has a package waiting. Come on... 3. Did Autumn Park make you bring your dog into the community? Didn't think so. Be responsible and bring your own poop bag. Jeeze. 4. So I guess you are the Autumn Park Hero now since you made the evil laptop user move his car? 5. Is Autumn Park building something? Nope...they have NOTHING to do with what is being built across the street, and they really don't have any say so as to what the state does to the road. So you have to make a U-turn...OH NO...You might lose an extra minute of your day. I've never heard construction noises, and I live in one of the buildings closer to Friendly. My point is...look around you...you'll not find a nicer apt complex in all of Greensboro. The office staff is changing. I went in recently and a new guy working was the nicest person I've ever seen working in there. He was there he said three days and he knew more about the community than I did, and I've been living here for nearly two years! Impressive I think. You are right about ONE thing. The maintenance guys are the greatest.

Oh my good1sfirst! People have the right to express their experiences without having some condescending person spill arrogance out their mouth! That person did not do anything to you for you to be mean. Be nice. The women in the office have been very snappy lately and it doesn't make living here very nice at all. They are nice if there is a prospect is in the office but that is all. They used to be nice to our dogs and give them treats when we broght them to the office, but not now. I know of a handful of people that have looked around and they are finding nicer places to live. It does not matter how nice an apartment looks on the outside if the people in the main office are snappy and that includes tenents who patronize others.
