We moved here in March thinking this was a wonderful and safe place to live. Today I got an email saying we need to watch out because many cars have been broken into. I know this could happen at any complex but still.
There are ALAWYS tons of guys (at least 15) playing basketball on the basketball court and it is very clear that most if not all of them do not even live here. Why am I paying for this amenity if I can't even use it since it is being taken over by random people'
The "dog park" is crap. There is a giant hole in the small fenced in area so you dog can easily escape. Even if you did want to use it, you'll come home covered in red mud. There is red mud all over this complex. Be prepared for mud on shoes, pets and in your car.
PIT BULLS are all over the place. The lease clearly states --no pits--
I have seen at least 6 large male pits on giant chains. Some may be ok with this but based on the look of the owners and the look of the dogs, I personally am uncomfortable mostly because I have a small dog.
Parking is a joke. The office staff told me they were very strict about parking/parking passes. Visitors park anywhere especially around the basketball court.
I guess I was just let down by the lack of rule enforcement. I have a feeling it is only going to get worse.
Oh and the apartments right down the road (wood stream apartments) are total trash. Most of that trash ends up here in to play basketball every day.
price is great but thats why we have less desirable people living here now.
storage= none
stairways are dark and don't feel safe
The one good thing, the office staff has always been very nice and welcoming.
I miss my old apartment off of New Garden. The price was higher but I felt MUCH safer. (no break-ins, no pit bulls, no aparment alarms going off at all hours of the night,no "buring oil smell outside" and no trashy apartments right down the road. The price was a lot higher but turns out it was worth it to live in that area instead of here.)

My point it is why are there breed restrictions if they aren't enforced? I would feel the same way about any other restricted breed but this is the only one I ever see. If you saw the "riff raff" that owned these dogs you would understand.
As for the red mud, I've lived in NC my whole life and never have I had to deal with this mess. Seriously it's not just in the grass, it's all over the parking lot. It stains everything. You wouldn't understand you YOU LIVED HERE.

Well evidently they are not agressive dogs. The top priority should not be to ban a breed but to make sure that NO aggressive dog/animal is living in proximity to others and endangering others. Don't be frustrated. I know it is easy to judge dogs as well as their owners sometimes though.
And I hear ya on mud stains but the point I was making is, it's here--it's there: presumedly you had known it was there from looking at the property. You could always put in complaints about that too. Someone should pressure wash it if it is all over the walkways. Do some googling..I'm sure you can find residential upkeep standards to politely but effectively get the results you and everyone living there deserve!!
