Truth be told

I have lived many places in my lifetime, and I am familiar with the property manangement industry. Yes, some of the office staff can seem pleasant on the surface, but my mother always told never judge a book by its cover.

A somewhat clean exterior can be used to cover up serious problems. Bridford unfortunately falls into that category.

It is scary to see a maintenance staff member who wheres a pro-marijuana t-shirt (420) and can be seen laughing hysterically with another black guy as they do "donoughts" with the golfing cart.

It's scary to see this same person meet young teenage boys and take them into the maintenance shed all hours of the night.
Almost all of the maintenance crew seem scary and I would be afraid to be alone in my apartment to let them fix something. But I also don't trust them to come in without my being there.

I still do not have a working card for the gate system, and I must type in the general number given to me that is used for delievery people because the young man who rented me the apartment said that would be easier. It scared me when he used the words awesome and dude while talking to my boyfriend, and completely ignored and my young child.

How many of you have working garage door openers' We didn't get a garage because they could not program the opener and said we would have to do it by hand. No security at all without the opener.

I've heard so many negative comments about residents from the staff (manager and maintenance)while getting my mail from the mailbox. And there is some lady (Peggy, I think') who parks in front of the mailboxes and then storms into the office, sometimes using very harsh tones and never in a good mood. After talking to some of my neighbors, they told me how you just can't trust anything from anyone in the office staff. Make sure all of your dealings are written down and signed by someone who makes you a promise or deal or offer.

I have had a persistent major problem in my apartment for weeks and it is still unaddressed upon numerous efforts to make arrangements to have it fixed while I would not be alone with any of them. Meanwhile I have an entire room that I cannot use and it is beginning to smell.

I am working to get out of my lease and leave as soon as possible. After checking around with other property management companies, I found out this company is does not have a good reputation. A group of former employees are getting together with lawyers and a law suit against the company.

With all this information, it is enough for me to move elsewhere. I don't feel safe here, and I am afraid for my child to play outside unattended because of the creepy maintenance staff.

Please take my comments seriously. And for those who are going to post future messages, good grammar and spelling make you much more credible.

I don't see how anyone could honestly post the glowing reviews about this place unless the office staff is giving them a discount in rent, or they are doing it themselves.

I don't see how this could be. For a period of two years my husband and myself have prepared for a move into an apartment and researched extensively, through websites and touring numerous times, the upper end apartments. Bridford Lake has always been one of the most sought after sites to live in. Unfortunately it has stayed so full we were unable to relocate there. They must be doing something right!

This review strikes a strong resemblance to a conversation that I had from a disgruntled, fired employee who lives at Bridford Lake. He was trying to convince me how bad it is here. However, I already knew that he was fired when he was talking to me. THE REAL TRUTH IS: His comments are false and can definitely result in a law suit for defamation of character. I know because I work for an attorney. I am a resident here and have talked with the staff numerous times. The office staff is very cordial and caring. The maintenance staff are professional and upright, and do a great job taking care of these apartments. What a shame that a disgruntled ex-employee can use this web site to make such lies and hurt nice people. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BRIDFORD LAKES....YOU WILL BE MAKING THE RIGHT CHOICE TO LIVE HERE. The property is beautiful and my apartment is bright and cheery with 9' ceilings, crown molding, lots of windows and quality throughout. I plan to stay here until I can buy a house. I checked out all the other apartments in the area and found this to be the best choice. The person who wrote this review should be ashamed.....he should just move out and get on with his life and leave the rest of us here to enjoy our apartments.

Your reveiw is dubious at best. It sounds to me like you have a personal vendetta against the staff. I wonder if you are being evicted or something... Your comment regarding other posters grammar and spelling is humorous considering your missing words and laughable punctuation. Best wishes on getting out of your lease.

Okay, while the message was bitter in tone, you do have to admit that a lot of things are true. While the current office staff is better and cannot be blamed for past employees, they have never been great. Maintenance takes too long and usually isn't done completely. In the two years that I have lived here, the gates have been broken almost half the time. They were out for six months after getting struck by lighting and another couple just to get everyones cards working again. Drive through the complex now and you will see that they are again not in working order. You can't blame the office for its residents behavior, but you can for not getting them fixed in a timely manner. As for not being able to get into the complex because it is full, that's a laugh. My building has at least three or four openings and the building adjacent to mine is the same. Having worked with management companies before, our company is known for poor service and lack of response. The apartments themselves are wonderful inside. But once you walk out the door, that's a different story. For the money that we pay, the service should be much much better. I'm not going to say that it is the worst, but it is far from the best. I love my apartment but the community is bad enough that I won't be back and I wouldn't suggest it for someone else. I hope it turns around.
