I have to say I was expecting problems, moving into my first apartment. After looking at several locations, Camden was chosen. The price was a little high for the larger 1 bedroom, but space was a requirement. First problem I noticed, was pests. I have had some issues with spiders and such. The building is right in front of the woods, so it's expected, just unpleasant. There were alot of appliances that needed fixing though. It's hard to tell who I should blame, Camden, or the previous resident. Pieces of the stove were misplaced, the A/C system was low on fluorine, and had ice build-up, the shower, has had several issues, and the ceiling leaks when it rains (which isn't often in Greensboro). While these issues have been reported, the staff response is sometimes very late, and on rare occasions, very prompt. There has been some trash found around my building as well. Nothing awful, except for a woman's nightgown and a loan mop laying in the pine needles. It doesn't appear that the staff goes around to check to see if their property is clean. The last real complaint, is the parking. At night, you won't have to look hard for cars parked illegally. There has been no effort to enforce parking laws on the property. The handicap spot for example, is always occupied by a non-handicap vehicle. Some cars even find their ways into the middle of the road, parked, for several hours. Problems aside, the staff attitude is average. They're not very warming, but far from being jerks. I have had no issues with other residents, break-ins, or anything of that matter. Bottom line, you will have to work with old house appliances, a sometimes absence of responsibility from the staff, and some parking issues. You probably won't find many places that are better for this price though. You can always wish for better conditions, regardless of where you live. If you're a fairly reasonable person, who has the money, this would be a place you should look into. If neither apply, look elsewhere.
