Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2006
I lived in Friendly Hills Apts from 2003 through 2006. When I first moved in the complex, things were very good. The staff was extremely helpful, the maintenance was very prompt, and the complex was generally clean and safe.
However, the last year or so I lived there, the place became overrun with "riff-raff." And they raised my rent by $100/month over one year, yet my apartment was crap--old, moldy carpet, VERY crappy dishwasher, bathroom wallpaper from the '70s.
About a month before I moved, there was a shooting in the complex. That's when I knew it was time to go. More and more illegal immigrants were moving in, about a dozen to an apartment, and things were getting unsafe with drugs and violence. As a single woman, I didn't feel safe at Friendly Hills anymore.
I'm not sure why things went steadily downhill from '03 to '06 (different management' bad tenants'), but they did. And I moved out.
