I've lived here since January. I had to choose this complex because it was walking distance to Guilford College and I needed to sell my car. But I was a little worried about the car break ins everyone talked about. Sure enough, my mom's ratty old truck was broken into because she had a GPS system on the seat, and she also saw a man hot wiring someone's car in broad daylight. So just make sure you have good insurance on your car and don't leave valuables in it. Other than that, everything has been great. The new management is trying really hard. Staff are always friendly and helpful. The new landscaping and other improvements look much better. They offered us a free carpet cleaning because of the mud due to construction! The rent is very reasonable considering how large the rooms are. It is 30 yrs old but mostly you can't tell because of the recent remodeling. Maintenance has been prompt, almost always within 24 hours, and only once did we have to request something more than once. They are more pet friendly here than other places, and were great about letting us paint and "make it our home." The only thing I hate is that there's only one laundry room per 2 bldgs and we have to lug our heavy laundry all the way down a steep hill, across the street, and through a muddy yard and down lots of stairs to get to the laundry room. I think every bldg should have at least one laundry room. We're in a quiet building but I really haven't noticed any noise. I havent' seen any other crime. Only once when we got home late on a Saturday night did we see lots of ppl partying in the street and we felt a little uncomfortable. But mostly I think we lucked out! I'm happy here.
