If you like to make a lot of noise, such as blasting music at all hours and playing basketball inside your second floor apartment with nothing more than some letters from management then Oakridge Trace is perfect for you.

Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2003
My time at Oakridge Trace started out well. The apartment was very spacious and I considered it a good value for what I was paying. However when summer came I quickly realized the air conditioner was nothing more than a fan. Maintenance came over, put some freon in and said to give it a few hours. Two days later, I again reported my 80 degree apt. was not being cooled sufficiently. This time maintenance supposedly worked on it when I wasn't home. This was fine with me until I realized all the did was lower the thermostat 10 degrees(Robert) so it would read cooler than it actually was. After buying a thermometer, placing it next to the thermostat and showing maintenance, they admitted I should always keep my blinds closed as the air conditioner was not large enough for this apartment and that there were no plans to replace the units in the larger apartments anytime soon. I eventually learned to deal with a 75 degree apt. rather than my preferred 68.
Then my neighbors moved in. I didn't catch the name of the fraternity but on most nights there would be 5-10 vehicles. I believe these "young professionals" as they had management believe they were, had stereos instead of televisions and would blast them constantly. I enjoy music as much as anyone but when my floors shake and dishes vibrate due to others noise I do not appreciate it. The beat of a loud bass along with the heavy odor of marijuana coming thru my floor did not make for the best sleeping conditions. After talking yo my neighbors and having the police talk to them numerous times I reported it to the office. They talked to my neighbors and sent them letters but told me when it came down to it they could do nothing unless they got several other complaints from other neighbors. This was rather unfortunate since I was their only neighbor who didn't have a firewall between. Upon talking to others in the community I have discovered that the current management makes it seem as if YOU are the one with the problem! This is not what I expected from a professional management. Finally, the buyout which I had to pay to break my lease and to start sleeping again, was ridiculous. It had a 4 digit advertising fee among other things, which would have resulted in anyone with less than an extremely well paying job basically trapped in a hostile environment with no control over their surroundings and no one to turn to for help. I paid my buyout and have since warned everyone I know who is looking at apartments in Greensboro to think beyond the first appearance of Oakridge Trace. The staff seems very friendly and the apartments look great, until you move in. To the management of Oakridge Trace, you can deduct this from myt advertising bill.
