River Walk has a tendency to make a lot of promises that they do not follow through with. They told us we were going to be getting microwaves in every unit but we never received them, the pool was closed most of the summer, the computer lab was out of service most of the summer. Then they changed the hours so that is it no longer a 24 hour lab, they said due to non residents getting the passwords. However we do have a way to hook up ethernet within the apartment, but this situation sucks for people who do not have their own computer. It is noisy MOST of the time, which is expected. Sometimes you can even hear gun shots. Please do not let them match you with a roomate. Move in with someone you already know. I live with a thief/slob unfortunately. I love the fact that you have your own personal bathroom and that the unit includes all utilities...also has a washer and dryer in the unit(high rises). I have not seen any bugs, other than the ones that come in when the patio door is left open. I would suggest you live on the top floor because as I stated before it gets to be very noisy. The parking is HORRIBLE, they barely even tow. Look forward to parking in a totally different section from where you live, and its not very well lit...so be careful. These "community events" they mention...I have yet to see one and I've lived here 8 months. Make sure you keep all your receipts for checks and money orders, the staff may lose your rent. I do not intend on renewing my lease, the one bedrooms are not as nice looking...they even look unsafe...and also overpriced. If you know the people you'll be living with, have your own computer, want to save a little gas by walking, are responsible(keep all your paperwork), dont mind a lot of partying...then this is the place for you. The rooms are pretty small but overall the apartment itself is pretty nice...it just depends on your roomates if it will be a pleasant experience.
