A Current Review of Treybrooke Village Apt.

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2004
I was introduced to apartmentratings.com today by a friend and was eager to see what it was all about, more specifically, see what kind of reviews would be posted for the community which I stay in now and I was surprised at what was posted!
Now, most of the reviews I saw were from like 2002 and 2003, so maybe stuff has changed, but I felt I'd put in my two cents on the matter just so people won't get the complete wrong impression.
I'm a college student and Treybrooke is the second apartment I've lived in (the first was with a nasty roommate elsewhere). I've been here since January 2004 so I'm a newbie, but I have been here enough to know if certain things I'm reading here accurate describe the complex.
Now note, there are two sides to Treybrooke. You have the larger side that's behind the Club House area, and then you have the smaller side which sits across the street.. I live on the smaller side and maybe that's why a lot of the complaints like loud music and trash don't apply too much since there are lesser people.
I happen to live on the 1st floor and the couple above me does have a child that's very active. I found it interesting how people were saying the walls were thin or what not as I thought maybe he was just heavy-footed! :) But nonetheless, it's not anything of a nuisance or distraction and after the first day or two I've never even paid much attention to it.
Speaking of the area which I stay in, trash is not an issue. The area is never nasty and neither is the trash compactor. Occasionally it'll appear overflowed (but that's more so people not knowing/too lazy to operate the compactor and just lying their trash bags down) but within a day or two, the trash is collected anyway.
Safety hasn't been an issue to me. They do have alarm systems available, but I leave my apartment for an entire week for Spring Break and never had any worries of anything happening while I was away.
The parking lot is nicely lit as well as the walk ways to and from the apartment doors.
The security latch works great as well. It's not a sliding gate (which easily lets 4 cars inside before it closes) but a crossbar type deal that's very quick and only allows one car to get inside at once. The only way two people can come in is if they are in front of you, and you swipe your card for them and then do the same for yourself but if not, "you" will be the one stuck outside that fast.
The management has been very nice and helpful and assistance is accurate and efficient. Noting back to my Spring Break hiatus, I lost power in my apartment while away and maintence came in and inspected everything for me to ensure all was fine and left note of their inspections.
I've already referred a classmate of mine to move here and I would definitely recommend the complex, but as with any complex, no matter how good or bad the reviews, I still suggest you take a look and tour for yourself because my likes and preferences may not be the same as yours.
